Exams
All exams are taken in the end of June. Two years are more important than any other - your fifth and seventh year. These are the years you take your O.W.L.s(Ordinary Wizarding Level) and N.E.W.T.s(Nastily Exhausting Wizarding Test).
Your O.W.L.s are very important and answers what you can and cannot become later on in your life. If these grades aren’t high enough, you may be excluded from certain lessons in your sixth and seventh year, and depending on these, your career choices will be narrowed down. For an Auror, for example, the important lessons are Transfiguration, Potion and Defence Against The Dark Arts. A low grade in any of these ensures that you cannot go on to become an Auror.
Your N.E.W.T.s are your final grades, the ones you leave the school with, the ones you apply for job with. These are the most important grades in your entire life; do well here or you’ll have a hard time after school.
Grades
The grades are as follows, from highest to lowest:
Passing Grades:
O - Outstanding
E - Exceeds Expectations
A - Acceptable
Failing Grades:
P - Poor
D - Dreadful
T - Troll
